Walks & Hikes:

There are a few hiking trails and shorter routes around Upplands-Broleden and Lejondal nature reserve. If desired, you could purchase a packed-lunch at the venue to take on your hike!

Upplands-Broleden (7-29 kilometers)

1 kilometer from Lejondals Castle you will find the Upplands-Broleden, which is 29 kilometers long. Here you can hike or cycle through grazed pastures, along beautiful dirt roads and through stony forest with a beautiful lake view. You can find more information about Upplands-Broleden here.

Lejondal nature reserve (5-9 kilometers)

Back and forth to the Lejondal nature reserve, you get a lovely hike of 5-9 kilometers depending on which trail you choose. You can follow the Upplands-Broleden at any time from here if you would like to walk a longer distance than you originally thought.

Lejondal nature reserve is a scenic area where you can swim or pick mushrooms and berries during your hike. The area is approximately 2 kilometers from Lejondal Castle. Hällkana outdoor area is part of the Lejondal nature reserve. There are large green areas, a swimming area and an outdoor garden.

Acro Park (5 kilometers)

If you want to take your hike to slightly higher altitudes, we have a trail that goes from Lejondals Castle to Bro Acro Park, which is on the other side of the lake from Lejondals Castle in the Hällkana outdoor area. Bro Acro Park offers 9 safe courses suitable for the whole family with levels of difficulty and heights varying from 1 meter for the youngest and up to 12 meters high for the bravest! Acro Park can be booked separately via their web booking here.

Bro Hof Golf Club (10 kilometers)

Round trip Bro Hof Golf Club you take a 10 kilometer hike in the footsteps of the Sparre family. Johan and Louise Sparre had both castles built after they inherited the land from their father Erik Sparre. The old avenue that stretched between Lejondal and Bro Hof starts at Lejondal Castle and is partially preserved on the walk to Bro Hof Castle.

Nearby Snacks:

Brogrillen (~7 min drive):

"Fast food" restaurant with diner vibes that has Josie's favorite Swedish lunch - a Swedish-style sausage in a turnbröd (typical flatbread). Josie likes hers the traditional way (which comes with mashed potatoes, lettuce, onion, sauces). You'll get it when you try it.

Floristhörnan (~7 min drive):

Cute floral & coffee shop located in an old train station.

Golf:

Bro Hof Slott Golf Club is a golf course located in Upplands-Bro, Sweden, northwest of the capital Stockholm. There are two 18-hole courses, both designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The Stadium Course opened in 2007 and is considered one of the longest golf courses in Europe at 7,357 metres. To book a tee time, contact reception@brohofslott.se.

Visit Stockholm or Sigtuna:

Stockholm City is just ~30 min away from Lejondals Slott. If you rented a car, we recommend taking the quick drive, but Bolt & Taxis are also available.

Sigtuna is also just ~30 min from Lejondals via car. It is Sweden's first town, located on the water with shops & great places for Fika.
